Written for children aged 8 and under, The Grumbles brings together rhyme, humour and vibrant illustrations in a story for little ones and their grown-ups to enjoy together.

It’s a gentle reminder that even when things feel a bit grim, there’s room for laughter and a fresh perspective.

Sharing the story

I’ve personally read The Grumbles to tamariki and donated copies to more than 100 daycares, kindergartens, schools and playcentres throughout New Zealand.

From 2020 to 2025, The Grumblesalso proudly supported the Special Children’s Christmas Party. Reading and then donated the books to the children and their families has been a special part of the journey.​
